The National Skill Training Institute ( NSTI)  Ludhiana An ISO 29990:2010 Certified Institute, formerly called  Advanced Training Institute (ATI) and  Central Training Institute for Instructor (CTI)  was established by Government of India, Ministry of Labour &  Employment, Directorate General of Employment and Training  in 1963 primarily with the objective for the training of Crafts Instructors in different Engineering trades for Industrial Training Institute (ITI’s), Industrial establishment and also for developing skilled manpower for the Industries.


Subsequently in 1978 the activities of the Institute were expanded under the UNDP and ILO collaborated Advanced Vocational Training System (AVTS) to upgrade and up-date the skill and knowledge of serving industrial workers and technicians. To make it more effective the institute was upgraded and renamed as Advanced Training Institute in May 1982. The Institute is well equipped with basic amenities required for healthy training environment.  It comprises of well equipped Workshop, Library, Audio-Visual Room, and Hostel for Trainees, Dispensary and club for indoor- outdoor games. Residential Complex for Staff is also constructed inside the Institute Campus.


Long Term Courses:- CITS

Training of Craft Instructors is the responsibilty of DGT in the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The Craft Instructors' Training Scheme is operational since inception of the Craftsmen Training Scheme. The first Craft Instructors' Training Institute was established in 1948. Subsequently, five more institutes namely, Central Training Institute for Instructors( Now called as Advanced Training Institue- ATI), ATI at Mumbai, Howrah, Kanpur, Ludhiana and Hyderabad were established by the then DGE&T. National Skill Training Institute, Ludhiana was established in 1963.
 
Objective of the Craft Instructor Training is to train Instructors in the techniques of transferring hands-on skills, in order to train semi-skilled / skilled manpower for industry. Structure of training programme is to such that comprehensive training both in skill development and training methodology is imparted to the trainees.

The duration of crafts instructor training is one year
.


SELECTION : Admission is done through All India Common Entrance Test which is conducted centrally by DGT HQ.
 
Eligibilty for Admission to CITS Program : NTC/NAC/ Diploma/Degree in relevant branch of Engineering

  4. i have 68 in cits entrance exam diesel mech trade i want to know how much practical knowledge is given in nsti ludhiana, can i open my own workshop let me know
