National Skill Trainers Institute (NSTI) , Dehra Dun was established in 1982 by then Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, New Delhi to cater the needs of industries in the Northern India in the field of Electronics and Process Instrumentation. NSTI Dehradun is now under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, a newly created ministry by Government of India to focus more on vocational training, skill development and entrepreneurship.

This institute is entrusted with the mission of producing systematically trained Craft Instructors to meet the huge demand of various Industrial Training Institutions in our country under Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) in four trades namely Electrician & wireman, Electronics Mechanic, Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance (CHNM) and Computer Software Applications (CSA), and has been upgraded as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the World Bank assisted VTIP to train the ITI instructors under IT Sector.


The Institute also imparting training and updating the skills of Engineers / Supervisors / Technicians / Executives/ Industrial Personnel & Faculties of educational institutions through courses of short duration conducted in modules and Tailor Made Courses as per the specific needs of Industries / Govt Est. / PSUs / Technical Institutions.

Hostel:
Institute has a very decent hostel accommodation that is provided on sharing basis for short term and long term courses.

Conference Hall:
Institute has well furnished, Air-Conditioned Conference Hall where various seminars, meeting are held.

Staff:

Qualified B. Tech / M. Tech officers selected through UPSC and other highly professional staff capable of providing practical training especially in repair & maintenance of Electronics Instruments / Equipments. Guest faculties who are expert in the field are also associated in training programmes.
